The Lane County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applicants for the Independent Redistricting Committee. The IRC will use 2020 census data to draw new boundaries that reflect equal representation for the five Lane County Commissioner positions. This process is called redistricting and the Lane County Home Rule Charter requires that it be done not less than every ten years. The boundaries were last drawn on October in 2011.
Applications must be received no later than Friday July 16, 2021, at 4:00 pm.
The IRC will be comprised of fifteen regular members and three alternate members. An appointee must be a resident of Lane County. Every reasonable effort will be made to select membership from different geographic areas of Lane County. Individuals from under-represented populations are encouraged to apply.
