VOTING
All Oregon elections are conducted with mail-in ballots, which are mailed to registered voters two to three weeks before the election and must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on the day of the election. Ballots may be mailed to Lane County Elections at the address on the voting envelope or be dropped off at special drop boxes throughout the county. Contact the Lane County Elections at 541-682-4234 for the location of a convenient box.
REGISTRATION
In order to register to vote in Oregon you must be at least 17 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Oregon. You must be at least 18 years of age to vote.
Voters must be registered at least 20 days before an election to be allowed to vote in that election. The registration form must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on the 21st day before the election at which the person intends to vote. Re-registration is necessary if a voter changes name, address, or party affiliation.
The deadline for voter registration for the November 2, 2010 general election is October 12, 2010.
