Engaging with your elected officials is one of the most powerful ways to participate in our democracy. We encourage you to attend town halls, reach out to your elected officials, and make your voice heard on the issues that matter to you.

Advocate:
Engaging Elected Officials
One of the most effective ways to advocate for the issues that matter to you is by engaging directly with your elected officials. Whether by attending town halls, calling or emailing their offices, or sharing resources with your community, every action helps ensure that our voices in Oregon are heard. We’d like to help connect you with key town hall dates, direct contact information for your elected officials, and a new shareable trifold to support civic engagement across the state.

What is a Town Hall?
A town hall is a public meeting where constituents can hear directly from their elected officials, ask questions, and share concerns about issues affecting their community. These meetings provide an opportunity to engage with senators and representatives, learn about their priorities, and make your voice heard on policies that impact you.
Whether you speak up or just listen, attending a town hall is a powerful way to stay informed and engaged in the democratic process.

Stay up to date with your elected officials through their scheduled town halls and events:

LWVOR is excited to introduce a new tool to help you and your community connect with elected officials! The “Contacting Elected Officials” trifold is designed for League members and friends to use at events, meetings, and outreach efforts to help individuals determine who their representatives are and how to effectively communicate with them.

How You Can Use It:

  • Share with friends, family, and neighbors
  • Distribute at community events and voter registration drives
  • Help League members educate and empower voters

The trifold is available for download here: Download the Trifold

The League is an integral part of the community by consistently observing the work of our cities, county and state governments.  We are following what is happening in our government.

Attend in person, listen on the radio, watch a live stream or recorded video. Then report back at a committee meeting or write a summary for our monthly newsletter, The Argus.
