Women and the Vote Essay Contest
The League of Women Voters of Lane County and Wordcrafters of Eugene co-sponsored the contest in recognition of the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote and the founding of the League of Women Voters.
Award members were announced August 19th. Hannah Ngo, a senior at Sheldon HS, essay was selected as the winner. As the top finalist she won $250.00. The second place essay was written by Grace Foltz , a senior at Sheldon HS. She received $150.00. Selected for third place was Charlotte Schramm , a 10th grader at Elmira HS. She received $100.00. Congratulations to all.
Honorable mentions went to Jay Bramhill, 9th grader at Springfield HS, Whitney Conaghan, senior at Sheldon HS, Sandra Detweiler, 11th grade at South Eugene HS, Lucy Mitchem, 9th grade at Elmira HS.
